Code is cheap.
Experience isn’t.
If AI can write the code, what makes you valuable? Your experience in healthcare, logistics, or finance. The crises you’ve handled. The problems you understand better than anyone. Survived helps you discover, capture, and show the knowledge that code can’t reproduce.
Free for developers. Your knowledge stays yours.
Things You Might Be Wondering
Why did we build Survived?+
We launched Survived because the world changed, and the way developers are seen didn’t. AI can now write code from the right instructions, and pretending otherwise helps no one.
But code was never the whole story of who you are. Behind every developer are years spent inside real industries, clients who changed everything at the last minute, systems that broke when it mattered most, and hard-won knowledge of which problems are actually worth solving. That experience is exactly what companies are struggling to find, yet it’s buried under resumes that only list languages and frameworks.
We built Survived so you can capture everything you’ve lived through, the industries, the challenges, the domain knowledge no prompt can reproduce, and show the world the developer AI can’t replace.
Why did we choose the name “Survived”?+
We chose the name Survived because it captures the one thing that truly separates developers today: what they’ve been through. When we looked at how developers present themselves, we saw lists of languages, frameworks, and job titles, but none of the moments that actually built their skills. The bugs that took down production, the projects that almost failed, the industries they had to learn from scratch to deliver something that worked. We wanted a name that honored those experiences rather than just the code.
“Survived” also reflects the moment we’re in. With AI reshaping the profession, many developers are asking whether they’ll still matter. We believe they will, and the ones who stand out will be those who can show what they’ve survived and what it taught them. That’s the story we built this platform to tell.
How does it work?+
- 1. Tell your story. A guided conversation walks you through the industries you’ve worked in, the clients and users you’ve served, the systems you’ve built, and the problems you’ve seen up close.
- 2. We build your profile. We review everything you share to create a clear picture of your domain knowledge and real-world experience.
- 3. We connect you with companies. When a relevant opportunity comes up, whether consulting, contract, or full-time, we’ll invite you to apply.
Will I be asked to write code or solve technical puzzles?+
No. Survived never asks you to write code, debug a snippet, or solve a technical puzzle. Every question is about how you think: your judgment, your industry experience, and your honest perspective on where software is headed.
Who is this for?+
- Still employed, quietly wondering? Build your profile before you need it.
- Recently laid off? Rediscover what you’re worth beyond your last title.
- Senior and experienced? Your decades of context are exactly what AI can’t replicate.
- Early in your career? Every project and client you’ve touched taught you something worth recording.
- Ready for something new? See where your experience can take you.
What happens if a company is interested in me?+
Completing your profile means you’ve consented to this: if a company is looking for someone with your experience, we share a summary of your background with them, never your name, contact details, or full responses, until you say yes.
If there’s a fit, we reach out to invite you to apply. From there, the interview and hiring process is run by that company; in some cases we stay involved too.
Is it a job board?+
Not exactly. We start with who you are and what you know. Opportunities come from that, not the other way around: you’re never just another listing in a search.
How much does it cost?+
Nothing. Survived is free for developers, always.
So how does Survived make money?+
Companies pay us to connect them with developers whose experience and industry background match what they need. Developers never pay, for anything.
What happens to the information I share?+
- Your profile is processed internally with our AI models to match you with companies' needs.
- We never share your voice recordings or full responses with anyone outside Survived.
- We share only a short summary, and only with a company once there's a potential fit you've consented to.
- Your name stays private until you choose to move forward.
- You can delete your profile at any time.
What if my past work was confidential?+
You don’t need to share secrets. We help you describe the industries, patterns and problems you understand without revealing anything proprietary.
Are you against AI?+
No. Most of us use AI tools every day. We just believe the people behind the code are worth far more than the code itself.
I'm hiring. How does this work for companies?+
Tell us what you’re looking for and we’ll connect you with developers whose real-world experience matches your industry, not just a keyword match on their stack.
